Creating your iWeb space

Welcome to the first step to creating your digital portfolio!

In this step, you will create an iweb account on Ball State's servers. You will need this account in order to make your portfolio available on the web. Think of it as location on the internet specifically reserved for your use.

Click here to visit the site that will allow you to create your account. Use the instructions below if you need help creating the account. If you know you already have an iWeb account, skip this step and go to "Start Creating Your Portfolio."

  • Go to the iWeb creation page.
  • Click on any one of the "Support" links.
  • Authenticate (Enter your BSU username and password)
  • If you do not have an iweb account, it will ask you if you want one. Click on the "Yes, I want an iweb account" option.
  • An agreement page will appear. Read the agreement and check to agree. Leave the "Enable Frontpage extensions" unchecked. It can always be changed later if needed.
  • Your iweb account will begin creation as soon as you click "Create Account". It may take some time to create, but usually is finished in a few minutes.
  • To check, click the "Support" link every few minutes. When a large page of information appears, the process usually complete.
  • The page of information will also provide a browsing link to your new web space that you will use for your portfolio. Click that link. The site creation will be done when that link takes you to a page that says your creation was successful.
  • Your web address will be http://yourusername.iweb.bsu.edu where "yourusername" is your BSU email username. For example, John Doe's address would be http://jdoe.iweb.bsu.edu

Developing Artifacts...
BSU gives each student 2 GB of online storage space for web pages including your digital, developmental, teaching portfolio. You may also post additional web sites in this space, but be sure they do not interfere with your portfolio and that they meet university guidelines.
