Student Teaching Portfolio Basics

Listed below are the pieces that comprise your Student Teaching digital portfolio for your showcase and decision point four. Each bullet indicates a separate page or section. See your Student Teacher's Portfolio Handbook for help with these sections. While not necessarily part of your Digital Portfolio, you may consider using your Video Analysis as an artifact.

Please remember that you must have written permission to use photos of students and student work within your portfolio. Do not identify students or student work with more than a first name. If you use observations as an artifact, be sure to eliminate individual's identifying information before publishing as an artifact.

Parts Required in Your Digital Portfolio

  • INTASC Reflections, Artifacts, and Rationales (11 separate pages, 2 artifacts per principle)
    • INTASC 1 - central concepts of discipline and learning
    • INTASC 2 - child development
    • INTASC 3 - individualized instruction
      • show examples of differentiated curriculum
      • consider IEP's
    • INTASC 4 - instructional strategies
    • INTASC 5, A and B
      • individual and group motivation
      • positive social interaction and active engagement
      • include your beliefs about discipline
    • INTASC 6 - verbal and nonverbal communications
      • provide evidence of your competence using technology to enhance instruction
    • INTASC 7 - plans instruction; community and curriculum goals
    • INTASC 8 - formal and informal asessment
      • include in-depth analysis of student progress and authentic assessments (LAMP)
    • INTASC 9 - self assessment, continued reflection on personal practice
    • INTASC 10 - foster relationships in community, with peers
