Introduction to Creating Your Portfolio
For help with editing your portfolio, visit the RapidWeaver help section.
Your digital portfolio is used
to showcase your work through your pre-service
teacher education. Your portfolio demonstrates
your understanding of the concepts, principles,
standards, and art of teaching. The
creation of your digital portfolio is the
most difficult step of your portfolio.
This document will outline how to create your
portfolio and what needs to be included for
it to be complete.
Your digital portfolio (upon
completion of your Introduction to Education
course) will contain at least twelve pages: your home
page, ten INTASC pages, and an artifact. The following
concept map shows the basic structure of the
portfolio.

The first page of your
portfolio is your Index page, or the first page people will see when
accessing your portfolio. Your Index page should include the
following information:
- A picture of yourself or an image relevant to your portfolio and education
- A links to your ten INTASC pages
- Possible links to the following pages:
- A brief introductory paragraph about yourself
- Indiana Content Standards
- Indiana Development Standards
- Your Philosophy of Education
- Your Resume
- Links for Teachers
The INTASC Principles are
national standards that apply to every preservice educator. These standards
explain what every educator should be able to do upon completion of
their pre-service educator education. Each INTASC page must
include: the INTASC principle anda Reflective Statement.
